Wildfires permitting, I’ll be heading north—beyond the 55th parallel—to my hometown of Thompson, Manitoba, to host a special book event for The Deafening Sound of Sorrow. The event will take place at the Thompson Public Library on August 19th, 2025, at 5 PM.
I’ll be bringing a limited number of early-release copies with me—just as many as I can carry—for those eager to get their hands on the book ahead of its official launch on October 16th, 2025.
I’m looking forward to that familiar moment—scanning the treetops for the iconic smokestack just before reaching city limits—and to reconnecting with old friends and, of course, meeting new ones along the way.
